According to the 1915 New York State Census, Delfa Barbi Dunlap's recollection of a story from Mary, and the SS Verona Passenger Ship List arriving in NY on 16 October 1909, Mary was born in Italy. As a matter of interest, the 1910 US Census says Mary was born in the United States in 1908 which is wrong.
